California QME Exam Questions: What You Need To Know
Any physician who wants to become a Qualified Medical Evaluator in California must go through a process that includes passing a certification exam.
The test questions can be divided into four broad categories relating to the four major responsibility areas of QMEs:
- I. Clinical Assessment/Evaluation and Medical Treatment
- II. Disability Issues/QIW/Vouchers/P&S
- III. Causation and Apportionment
- IV. Basic Laws and Regulations and Report Writing Elements
In turn, the questions included in the test fall into one of three format categories:
- Direct question
- Internal blank format
- Incomplete sentence
Note that according to the QME Competency Examination Booklet, all the above question categories are multiple choice.
Another useful fact worth keeping in mind is that, due to the need for strict security, multiple forms of the QME competency test contain different sets of test questions.
